Info

In Grief are a relatively new band to the Death/Doom Metal scene, with them just becoming a band in the year of 2020. This, new-ish, obviously perpetually depressed band just so happen to hail from the country of Italy, who have some rather classic bands with the subgenre tag Doom added to some version of metal that they play. Although with Death/Doom there is not so much. But fear not, dear metal lover. For In Grief are here with their, new in 2022, fabulous debut full-length album, ‘An Eternity Of Misery’.

With ‘An Eternity Of Misery’, along with the EP and demo before, In Grief play a rather majestic, gorgeous, grandiose and heart wrenching style of Death/Doom that would mostly be associated/compared to the classic Peaceville Three but it’s much more than just that. And what do I mean when I say that are more than just that? Well,  there are touches from many of the typical/classic bands from within the subgenre laced throughout, not just the Peaceville Three. Yet it is not as if In Grief are taking a little bit from here and a bigger bit from there, piecing it together, and just plodding out “classic” style Death/Doom. No. For In Grief’s ‘An Eternity Of Misery’ is a Death/Doom Metal album that fits in perfectly alongside the classics we all already love while being able to be their own. Yes, this is a motherfucking instant classic, calling it now. Review done.
