A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

I’ve reviewed their first debut full length-album titled “Mature Necropsy” some years ago and was stunned by the aggressive and old school grinding style of this French band. And in the summer of 2017 a new EP was released, and since I apparently missed this release, now I took my chance to give it a listen. Nothing very new to discover unfortunately, cause this EP only contains two new tracks titled “Anatomy” and “Didactic Exploration”. The rest of the disc has two re-recordings on it, and two live-tracks taken from a show in Belgium – Roeselare (apparently the first Putrid Offal gig after 20 years). To be short: those two new tracks again are a mixture between old Carcass (the Grinding way) and some Exhumed added to it in my opinion. The shrieking and grunting vocals are covered up with their mighty blastbeats, and the tempo is fast, as grind should be! For the rest I’m little disappointed there’s to few new songs on this one, but the nice EP-cover is again sublime…if you check out the cover of their full-length, I’m sure more body parts are available for future releases.
