A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Psionic Madness are a ferocious, brutal force in the underground metal scene, hailing from South Carolina, USA.

Featuring Jared Moran – Drums, Nicholas Turner – Guitars, Bass and the unparalleled Justin Vølus – Vocals, Psionic Madness released their crushing debut ‘Mortality Salience’ in 2021; followed by the punishing ‘Rotting Dominion’ in 2022.

‘Warhead Crucifix’ is their 3rd opus. And the musical carnage continues. Think guttural bestial vocals, hammering blast beats, and riffs/guitars that feel like a descent into madness. Its vile, punishing visceral and cerebral, yet also kinda creepy experimental in structure and atmosphere. Imagine a Cryptopsy or a Demilich, Immolation, Putrefying Cadaverment or Ulcerate.

The entire album bathes in this murky apocalyptic atmosphere – layers of dissonant guitars try to suffocate you, the bellowing vocals stomp you into submission and the rhythm section feeds on the leftovers.

The album contains nine blistering tracks in total and each of them never ceases to amaze with its unpredictable riffs, insane drumming and otherworldly gurgled growls.

Death Metal the way is was meant to sound.

Maniacs who are into the true stuff from Blood Harvest and the darker releases from Profound Lore or Dark Descent Records will know what I mean.
