I do have to say, I don’t read a lot of bios who mention Sort Vokter’s only release ’Folkloric Necro Metal’ as one of the influences, so colour me intrigued.
For those who enjoy that album on regular basis, will recognise the band moniker immediately as it is the opening track of ’Folkloric Necro Metal’. So it is quite clear Sort Vokter is definitely a huge part of Kveldstimer. Both Collier d’ombre (ex- Triumvir Foul, Ash Borer etc.) and Azeruel Woldaeg (Ringarë, Häxanu, Krieg and many others) created a demo that will take the listener back to the Norwegian 90s, because besides Sort Vokter the influences of Ildjarn (another link, as Ildjarn is the vocalist of Sort Vokter as well) and Gorgoroth are present as well.
“Primitive, yet majestic Old School Black Metal” was the tag planted on this demo, and I couldn’t agree more as ‘Scripture of the Woods’ is a good start for Kveldstimer.
