A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

‘The Collection’ is the whole demo collection of Hellkult. Hellkult is a cult-band from Finland, with Narqath – Azaghal, Wyrd, Hin Onde – as most important member. In total there are 20 songs on this album. Most of them do have a playing time of only two / three minutes and are played in a furious tempo, but there also are some slower songs and more melodic songs on this disc.

The Black Metal sound of Hellkult is raw, very raw, but I think this won’t surprise you because it includes all old demo recordings. The guitar riffs are mainly very basic, the drums are not very technical and the screams sounds hellish. I’m not very impressed by most of the songs, although there are some striking ones on the album.

As you can read, I’m not really positive about the material on this album, but I think it’s a good release, because now it’s possible for all Azaghal and Wyrd fans to hear how it all started.
