A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Grotesque Bliss have crawled from the depths with their latest self-titled demo, combining the sounds of Doom Metal giants like Saint Vitus while not forgetting the viciousness of bands such as Sadistic Intent and Autopsy. This independent release sounds exactly how you think it would, grueling and evil, like an army from hell slowly punishing the world with every step they take.

Within this demo we are mostly greeted with slow or mid-tempo drumming combined with riffs that match the attitude. Rife with palm muting and chromatic movements, or if you are not familiar with musical terms, guitar playing that invokes terror with every note. For that reason, some stand out tracks to me would have to be ‘Bringeth Death to Life’ and ‘God of The Godlless’.

This Australian Death-Doom piece is something everyone should watch if that is what you are into. For me, although it didn’t have the blast beats and chaos that I usually enjoy within my Metal, it provided and good and almost meditative listen nonetheless.
