Info

In the review of `Worship the Eternal Darkness’ I mentioned how Archgoat sounds recognisable yet they have added slight touches to their sound over time. Forget all about those elements on `All Christianity Ends’. Even though both releases were recorded during the same session, they are far from identical. Where `Worship the Eternal Darkness’ was a logical continuation in a slightly diversifying sound of Archgoat, `All Christianity Ends’ is a traditional fist in the face. The guitar sound is much rawer than on the full length, complementing the more straightforward tracks present on the EP. `Ascension Towards the Promethean Fire’ could have easily fit on `Angelcunt’ or `The Whore of Bethlehem’ in terms of songwriting and ferocity. ‘Crown Cloaked with Death’ and `The Semen of Anti-mastery’ go back even further, paying homage to the roots of the band by incorporating plenty of Thrash Metal riffs alongside explosions in the typical Archgoat fashion. `All Christianity Ends’ showcases Archgoat in its most primitive and traditional form, harkening back to the earliest days of the band. It’s a testament to the no-nonsense attitude and dedication to the sound of the band that more than thirty years and many releases after creation they still haven’t lost any of their characteristic sound and intensity.
