Another one that slipped through our fingers. Vampyric are from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA and consist of Aguul-Drums, Vu-Everything and Cosima-Synths
An EP was released in 2020 followed by a split with Tarmblod in 2021. ‘Untouched By Songs That Angels Sing/Allied Under Black Light’ is a compilation of the previous releases, with a new and alternate mix and mastering by the departed Rob Paquette. All other info eludes me. The result are tracks that show an increase in liveliness and heaviness.
Vampyric play hoarse and unpolished dark and atmospheric Black Metal alternating with sometimes very epic Dungeon Synth interludes. Their music is minimalistic and raw, kinda lo-fi style with lyrical themes that revolve around darkness and vampirism. Personally, it does remind me of Satanic Warmaster. Unbridled ferocity like we know it from Scandinavian bands, coupled to the best of USBM, genre Judas Iscariot/Vrolok/Krieg. It can be described as atmospheric and uncompromising yet it fits within the more experimental side of Black Metal — the songs are both melancholic and hypnotic, relentless and crude.
This compilation is released by Pile of Heads Productions and still available. It’s 36 minutes of black delight and those who aren’t familiar with Vampyric and have an appetite for good music can check them out on the Internet. It has been quiet around the band this year – hopefully we’ll hear from them in the near future.
