Crawling out of a disease infested sewer in the Nations Capital of Ottawa, Canada comes the new EP “Fun In The Sun” from Gland. Clocking in at just over 13 minutes, this is a whirlwind shit storm of Death Grind. Musically falling somewhere between Exhumed and Gorgasm, the 5 tracks offer a more melodic variety of grind sprinkled with equal parts Death Metal and Thrash metal.
Actually, if I had to be an arrogant prick (which I will be) I’d call this Old School Death Grind, you know the kind that has an actual drummer playing the full song with no cut n paste kicks and the guitars don’t sound like Super Mario being raped by an 8-bit dildo… yah, the good ol’ kind… anyways, I like the vocals switching between discernible shouts and death metal grunts. There are even a couple short slam-ish parts thrown in for fun. Solid effort from zee boys, music equivalent to the ending of Sleepaway Camp. (Ted Gloom)
