A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Liberator returns after seven years with another demo. The two-piece from Sri Lanka is different than most Black Metal bands, in that they use the bass as the leading instrument.

‘Promo 2024’ holds three tracks ranging from quintessential Death/Black Metal riffs to more avant-garde sections. The songs are fairly unique for the genre, but don’t stand out enough to tell them apart. Topped off with reverbing growls so deep it’s almost echoing Mortician. The production is on the thin side, this unfortunately distracts from the otherwise menacing atmosphere.

Liberator throw in some decent songs to honour the fundamentals of old Necromantia, but don’t expect anything revolutionary.
