Nothing really special to mention about the origin of this one-man project from the UK, as there was no demo released prior to this debut full-length, nor is there lots of info about the composer himself. All I can find is his love for nature and being outdoors in general as well as admiration for most things ancient, be it rituals, rites or the pagan past of Northern Europe.
The music itself keeps the Black Metal traditional when it comes to riffs and a bit noisy concerning sound. When the mid-tempo parts starts the riffs transforms into typical hypnotic Burzum-like ones and creates a soundscape with lots of guitar-feedback. A sound that is raw but will not please every Black Metal enthusiast.
To wrap this up, it sure has some parts that are interesting (the ending of last track “Aa Moete Hermes” for example) but after a couple of spins I consider it the whole album as above average, therefore I’ve heard better ones last 12 months. (Ricardo)
