A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

The Peruvian Death Metal band Autopsia Prematura did release a demo and a 4-way split CD prior this new demo, ‘Crónicas De Un Feto Moribundo’. The music the duo presents on this 6-tracker (including intro and outro) is of such an old school nature that I had to double-check whether this wasn’t a re-released demo from the late 80’s or early 90’s.

When you talk about Peruvian Death Metal it is impossible not to mention Mortem, simply one of the best South-American Death Metal bands, but when we talk about Autopsia Prematura it is also quite inevitable to mention Mortem. Not that the music is completely the same, but the same sort of sound and rather simple but effective way of riffing and use of drum patterns makes it impossible not to think of those giants of Peruvian Death Metal. All in all ‘Crónicas De Un Feto Moribundo’ does breathe that old school South American Death Metal vibe, with that charming muffled and chugging production. If you have a weak spot for Old School Death Metal in general and South American madness in particular you should do yourself a favour and check out Autopsia Prematura. Especially fans of bands like Mortem, Masacre and Atomic Aggressor should take notice.
