A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Sweden’s Isgärde new EP is called” Ölandsvinter II” and was released at the end of 2017. This record contains 4 new songs and I have to say that something that hooked me up immediately of this EP was that the drumming sound has this huge reverb on the snare that reminded me the typical 90’s sound/production which I personally like a lot. The music shows well structured black metal riffs combined with some experimental parts, keyboards and even sometimes quite melancholic to depressive melodies. The project seems to be a one-man band act and it is definitely inspired by the old stuff like Burzum, Bathory and even I could dare to mention the very fist incarnation of Katatonia at some point. Great vocals, quite dark vibe, lyrics in Swedish (så ska det va!) and very well played. Very recommended stuff for the likes of the mentioned bands before. The perfect soundtrack for winter. (Jön)
