A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Sometimes not much words are needed to get to the core of something. This new EP from Romanian Vömitt for instance, the band name, logo and EP title do all the talking, leaving very little to actually write about.

So, why still doing it then? Just because it is a great EP that deserves some extra exposure, that’s why. So what Vömitt is about is basically just the result of everything that the musicians like to listen to (when not being sober), that being Motörhead, Venom and GG Allin. Four short tracks, together clocking well under the 15 minute mark, do deliver the goods in the same fashion as a band like Midnight does. Maybe just a bit less well executed as these new gods of Speed/Black Metal, but surely not without less conviction. There’s so much sleazy Rock ‘n’ Roll on ‘Medieval Motorpunk’ and an equal amount of primal Venom-ish Black Metal on ‘Varangian Axe’, I am sure this will appeal to anyone into any of the aforementioned bands. No frills, no bullshit, just good old filth and sleaze!
