30 Years old and still hungry. 9 Years after “In the Light of Darkness” we see a new outcome by one of Sweden`s best Death Metal acts, namely Unanimated. This time with a 4 track EP entitled “Annihilation”. They just keep going where they left with the previous album which means you will hear a nice mixture of Blackened Death metal with a good sense for melodic passages, fantastic Dissection-like leads and melodies with still enough heaviness. The slower headbanging parts will please fans of the aforementioned Dissection, or even Bathory and Watain, and Micke Broberg`s vocals are still evil as fuck.  The entire band did a killer job, with a production that is clear but still has a rough edge. The songs are versatile, haunting and show the entire spectrum of Unanimated captured in 4 songs. The acoustic parts are present as well and raise the spirit of the nineties back in the new millennium,  which makes it a strong and very different song . “Annihilation” is a strong EP and a good appetizer for more glorious Death Metal hymns…hopefully.
