A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

In the ever-emerging scene that combines the fury of the old early 80’s anarchist Punk with the depraved sort of bareboned Black Metal, comes this Parisian act Tëmor. It is not completely clear whether this is a full band or a one-person project, but whatever is the case, with ‘Acid Piss Rain’ the act releases its very first offering, nicely put out on cassette tape by Croux Records.

Let’s cut to the chase, this is not a release that will suit everyone. The Lo-Fi production and minimalist approach is something that does appeal to a growing group of followers, but still really not the average Black Metal fan. However, should you be able to enjoy this ultimate stripped-down form of Black Metal, then Tëmor is definitely a band to keep an eye on. The two short tracks and the noisy third track/outro make up just 7 full minutes of game time, but recall bands like Raspberry Bulbs and especially Bone Awl. Prior to listening to this demo, I actually had no idea what exactly ‘Acid Piss Rain’ would entail, but at least now I know what it sounds like. Acrid, raw and razor-sharp.
