A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

And another Finnish Black Metal album! And once again some high quality hatred coming your way!

This time the hatred is a bit more mellow sort of speak than most of the releases from Finland nowadays, it is more like twisting the knife with a smile, but it is absolutely not pure Melodic Black Metal, it is more Folk/Pagan like melodies what main man Ruttokieli is producing. I think he couldn’t pick a better opener than “Tulen kaste” to let the listener hear what to expect the next 40 minutes.

The album also has some melancholic touches like the lead guitar on “Kahleidenkatkoja” which is weaved perfectly in the song. After a couple of spins…there are some impressive songs on this album! And as a whole the album is more than good.

If you don’t know Sielunvihollinen by name, I recommend to dive right into this album if you want your Black Metal aggressive and with well written melodies, the Finnish way. (Ricardo)
