Info

Mindkult is a one-man band from Virginia specializing in psychedelic stoner/doom, and “Witch’s Oath” is their debut EP. Mindkult does not break any new ground on this release, as the music is relatively straight-forward, although that does not make the experience any less enjoyable. The music is comprised of slow, psychedelic riffs, with clean and well-sung vocals that conjures images of bloody witches in the woods dancing naked around a fire. It emits a kind of occult-tinged vibe, with a sound that takes a few cues from bands like Black Sabbath, Danzig, and Pentagram. The low-tuned riffs have an almost deliberate sloppiness, but played in a way that makes it sound natural. Those into this style should check out this EP. (Filth Bearer)
