Switzerland’s Malphas here released their second full-length album, ‘Divinity’s Fall’ of course, in 2022. Meaning that I, and possibly most of us, am late to the game here but nevertheless let us see what they have to offer us.
So, after multiple listens to ‘Divinity’s Fall’ what we have discovered is that Malphas here are a rather competent, well versed Old School Second Wave of Black Metal band. And with this album they show that they just do not understand the old ways but can expertly write songs within it that sound familiar and fresh all at once. They also show that they can string those songs together into a cohesive, interest holding and pretty damn good album.
