A soul may stumble upon a work of art, one which converses with the consciousness in a language akin to the mind, and through dialogue you wish naught to be awake in this discovery but seek the solace of repose. For why should the mind be muddied by the noise of the outside, when in stillness behind the veil of eyes, the words that are spoken, are much clearer…it’s meaning coalesces with one’s own thoughts, expanding it, nurturing it, and in a return, magick is unveiled.

A speech woven in the dialect of hate and melancholy communes with the soul in the form of ‘III’ by Fuath, an album that inscribes its essence with the atrament of one’s mind. Moulding the primordial energies discovered in Atmospheric Black Metal in similar frequency to such bands as Drudkh, Hades Almighty and even Wodensthrone, Fuath crafts an immersive work of art, one which latches unto the soul and cocoons it in the threads of the most virulent emotions.

The musical resonance of the album as a whole carries with it an intimate aura, where the strings and percussion envelopes the senses, creating the illusion as though you are at the nucleus of this delivery. In addition to this, the guitars display a duality to its candor, where the temperature of its rhythm feels both frigid yet warm at the same time. Take for example, the track, ‘The Slaugh’, where the guitars interchange regarding the melancholic tone.In the same breath, the drums also adds a dynamic layer wherein its texture of sound and feeling exudes a pulsating spirit, as though its rhythm is but a cause and effect of a myriad of emotions that are heightened and expressed.

There exists a certain personal feeling to the temperature of the strings and the melodies spoken forth, for the manner of its motion radiates an introspective ideal. ‘Embers of a Fading Age’ is a track which shares this sentiment, for the composition of the percussion and guitars flows in such a way as though it is the river, and the mind becomes the very rock which is shaped by it, be it a gentle caress or a robust current.

Art can be often viewed as the extension of that which is manifested through the core of one’s soul, to wet the mind with the ichor that courses within our very emotion and unto this realm,a physical manifestation is ushered. Fuath is a testament to the primordial connection that resides betwixt mind and emotions, and from this unification, another’s soul may inherit its message to tread the path of a journey that bares itself, step by step.
