A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

I still learn every day. I’ve had never heard of the style Dread Metal, but Desert Crone seems to play it. So what does Dread Metal mean? In the case of Desert Crone it is a combination of heavy traditional Doom Metal along with some Stoner (fuzzy guitar sound), Sludge and a slight pinch of Death Metal. I can imagine Black Sabbath and Cathedral are huge influences. The vocals are more scream-like than a growl, which I didn’t expect to be honest. Not sure if this will get high scores within the Doom/Stoner scene, but for me, as a Death Metal adept, I can’t say I’m impressed. But I’m aware it’s my taste speaking here… (Ricardo)
