A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Cultus Profano – Sacramentus Obscurus [Demo]

Cultus Profano is a Black Metal duo from the US, LA to be precise, worshipping 90`s Scandinavian Black Metal at its best. Their first demo is entitled “Sacramentus Obscurus” a 3 song strong demo, almost 12 minutes long showing a freezing cold face to all polished Black Metal stars out there how it`s done the old (true) way. Advorsus is responsible for the drums and bass and Stryzgas for the guitars. Both are sharing the vocals and do a killer job doing so. Sound is strongly rooted in the 90`s. Mayhem, Emperor, Dissection, and many more come to mind. The production is raw, fitting the sound perfect and adding more atmosphere to the overall sound. For some it is maybe good to know that some Sadistic Intent member is involved in this project. A good start for this duo, hoping to hear some more (a full length maybe?) in the future. (DPF)
