A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

The debut from Czech act Altars Ablaze is full of complex Black/Death Metal, explaining why these veteran musicians from bands like Heaving Earth, Brutally Deceased, Fleshless, Intervalle Bizzare, and Cult of Fire, decided to team up for this violent identity.

It is more intricate than your typical Black/Death Metal record, featuring more Black Metal influences than most Old School Death Metal albums. Essentially, it sits between Angelcorpse and Hate Eternal on one hand, and 1349 on the other.

With a slightly modern approach to production and the technical side of things, it will certainly appeal to the modern Black/Death Metal fan.To those who might only envision Hate Eternal’s debut or the first three Angelcorpse records, I would suggest giving the album a proper listen first.
