Info

Aeternus is back… YES. The wait was a bit long for their next full lenght album, but Aeternus kept the fans warm by giving us a mini album with some new tracks and a few live tracks called ‘Burning the Shroud’ a few months ago which only made my hunger for the new full lenght grow even more. Today I finally received a copy of their new full lenght entitled ‘Ascension of Terror’.

Aeternus is definetly a band that has managed to grow without betraying their roots. On last years album we could already hear that Aeternus was moving into a more Death Metal direction and that hasn’t changed. On ‘Ascension of Terror’ we can hear that Aeternus has completely left their Black/Dark Metal era behind them and is moving into a newer direction.

The album contains 9 new tracks (except ‘Burning the Shroud’ that we already know from their mini-cd with the same title), the new tracks are much shorter and more compact to what we are used too from Aeternus in the past. This is a huge progress for the band in my view. The album doesn’t bore me at all and their brutal war metal doesn’t bore me 1 second. Aeternus has definetly overdone themselves again. Great catchy riffs and main man Ares has even managed to get deeper and deeper with his vocals. What a power unbelievable.

Make sure to check out this new masterpiece by 1 of Norways most brutal bands.
