Ceremonial Crypt Desecration – Anointed by the Crimson Veil

Info

And we meet again, my Aussie mate. 2nd Full-length in 2 years, with 2 Splits in between. This is a hard-working man, I see. Which is good, as my interest for this project has grown, especially after listening to the music’s evolution. I am quite curious to see what is coming next.

In this specific release, I sense more of a Punkier attitude, if I may use the term Punk to describe such Black Metal act, but I sort of feel a much more free, much more loose, way of playing. It feels less constraint to those boundaries where the “unmusicality” is such, that one sometimes gets lost in the sounds. In a way you somewhat imagine yourself raising from the dead, in the sense that Krisgaldr’s approach became much “cleaner” and “filtered”. I truly enjoyed this release more than previous ones, and why? Due to this. I might be mistaken? Yes, I might. My ears canals could be playing tricks on me, you never know. The end production is much more “listener friendly”, as stated before, and that does help in terms of absorbing the music.

When it comes to composition, the same path is being trailed, there is no doubt about it, and we love it, don’t we? This man can absolutely create chilling atmospheres and piercing momentums. Yes, it is a Raw Black Metal act, but he adds something to the (flogged) genre, and that is a point in his favour. It is a fun ride, if you dare take it, going from his first, to this more recent release, and hear that his sound has, indeed, grown.

As said right at the start: I am interested in seeing what will come up, from Down Under, mates.
