A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Those who dwell in the underground are aware that some small countries have a nice bunch of new hordes that deserves some attention. This time I would like to introduce you to a couple of elegant neighbours of mine, Ish Kerioth from Belgium.

This power trio consisting of members of Lugubrum and Kosmokrator are dealing with some well-played riff-driven old school Black Metal and although the atmosphere is raw, the sound is clear-ish. The vocals are a bit in the rough rasping shouting with despair category, yet very fitting with the atmosphere Ish Kerioth are aiming for. Enclosing the “Marche funèbre” in the closing track “Akeldama” is a nice touch by the way, it really sounds like it belongs there.

“Under Unclean Wings” is a strong EP and shows the potential of Ish Kerioth. (Ricardo)
