The collaboration between Uriel Aguillon and Corina is one that has existed for years, both within and outside of music. Both are active in bands such as Putred, Vorus, Reveler, and now also Detruncation. Their preference for Old School Death Metal has been obvious for years, to the point where you would almost think other genres hold no interest for them.
With Detruncation, they focus on early 90s Old School Death Metal, where groove and mid-tempo dominate the sound. It is clear that you shouldn’t expect too many complex structures or riffs when listening to ‘Putrefied Evulsions’, but if you are familiar with the bands mentioned before, that was likely already expected.
You must not expect miracles from Detruncation, but if so-called “meat & potatoes” Death Metal satisfies you at any moment of the day, then Detruncation is a fine choice to serve.
