I got this album from the singer Jonas Granvik who mailed it to me, thanks! There are 8 tracks, with the last one being a cover of a classical piece. However, this version is much more stripped down and restrained. You only hear a piano and a cello; it’s absolutely stunning!
The other 7 tracks are truly first-class. The songs are all quite long but there’s a lot of variation so you don’t notice. It’s mostly mid-tempo with some faster parts that are perfect for headbanging. If you like a mix of Amon Amarth and the typical Gothenburg style but with a unique twist, you should definitely check out this band.
Just like the Autumn Leaves CD, this one also has a fantastic, fat production, which underlines the band’s class!! However, they’re on the same label as Autumn Leaves: Serious Entertainment, and their distribution isn’t great because the Autumn Leaves CD is also very hard to find.
If you can’t find this CD through the usual underground channels, you can also write to the band: Without Grief, c/o Jonas Granvik, Vallmansgatan 7b, 791 31 Falun, Sweden or email: withoutgrief@hotmail.com
