A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

I already said that Vermin try to be Entombed in my review of their third album ‘Millennium Ride’, and Vermin continue in that vein. If you can’t get enough of Entombed’s current style, then Vermin might be just the antidote.

But do we really need this sort of band? I must say that Vermin have improved somewhat, since I can now listen to their songs for a while. Unfortunately, they’ve only used one intro (from Star Wars) on this album. And I still have to push myself to listen to the whole album. The songs are quite similar to each other and are not really bursting forth like some rampant vermin, but more a constant crawling sound. It just becomes boring to me after a couple of tracks.

There is something odd about the track listing: on the back cover 13 songs are mentioned, but my CD player indicates only 12.

Anyway, if you want some great rock ’n’ death, you’d be better off getting Gandalf’s new album.
