A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Australian act Lament in Winter’s Night teamed up with Obsidian Grave from the USA to release a split on cassette, each presenting two tracks of uncompromising Raw Black Metal.

‘Yearning for Darker Days’ just delivers the goods for those who resist any modern sounding Black Metal act. The Seer of Lament in Winter’s Night created Raw Black Metal with melodic hooks from the Finnish scene and did a splendid job once again. Only this time, especially during opening track ‘A Somber Realisation’, it has a more melancholic touch than on the split with Night’s Treshold.

Obsidian Grave’s Black Metal is fierce, the sound is thinner and it is more gloomy in general, compared with the performer of the two first songs. But like Lament in Winter’s Night, very well performed.

If you stumble across this split tape, don’t hesitate to buy it.
