Gravthron is the collaboration between Vožd Jovan Pogani (Guitars, Lyrics and Drum Programming (1389, Goat Evil, Sahrana, Zvijer and more) and Lord Necromansy (Vocals (Azaghor, Frost Eternity, Moonglare) and the goal was to play Grim & Hateful Unholy Black Metal.
They’ve succeeded in that aspect: ‘When Total Holocaust Funeral Winds Blow’ contains 8 tracks of mostly linear raw Black Metal with punk-ish Ildjarn influences. And with tracks such as ‘Grave’, ‘Death’, ‘Rot’, ‘Hell’, ‘Devil’ you know what time it is.
The dark and ominous slimy vocals of Lord Necromansy fit well with the music. No fringes, no bells and whistles; just pure undiluted Black fuckin’ Metal from start to finish. 8 tracks are being delivered at breakneck speed and that is what you get.
As far as I’m concerned, Nordic Crusade, sub-label of A Fine Day To Die Records, may release more of this as it is Black Metal the way it was meant to be!
