A tidy debut self-titled EP from Italian Black/Viking Metal band Erzsebeth, who sole purpose seems to be to raise a horn to Quorthon. And there is plenty of Bathory worship on offer, although fans of reverend Bizarre may be quietly pleased at the vocal styling of frontman Nickhessian. In truth this ten minute ode to the Viking Sagas is a simple enough affair, with a mid tempo pace and simplistic riffs and drum tones, and yet its instantly enjoyable, catchy and will make you want to listen again and again. Get this out on cassette and 7″ vinyl soon please!
