Here it is, ‘Navigator’ the fourth album of Endstille. In a straight line these Germans are marching forward to conquer the throne, destroy it, and set new norms in the land of Black Metal. Seldom a Black Metal band blew me away with an album like this in the last few years. Endstille’s previous albums were already highlights of quality, full speed Black Metal. Yet with ‘Navigator’ they’ve reached a new level of intensity.

On this album Endstille still plays the style we’re used to hear from them, yet instead of only full speed Black Metal, you can also find some mid-tempo parts, which are really good for the variation, and to give the listener some breath to prepare for the next attack.

The production is raw, though, it perfectly suits the music. Most riffs are aggressive and melancholic at the same time, add the dirty voice of Iblis, and the mastely hammering drums to this, and there is it; the perfect combination to destroy everything that comes in its way. With this album Endstille gained the ultimate weapon to pull down the established names in the scene and to become the absolute monarch in a few years now.

It wouldn’t surprise me if ‘Navigator’ will grow out till one of the classics from this decade, like an album as ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’ is for the nineties. Soon Endstille will be on tour with Dark Funeral, be sure to check them out if you’ve got the opportunity, and for now, buy this masterpiece, it’s essential!
