A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

If you’re a fan of the UK underground Death Metal scene then the chances are the name ‘Ryan Wills’ will be known to you from bands such as Born Undead, Seven Doors, Grave Ghoul and maybe even his cinematic theme tune release, Freudstein. All fantastic projects in their own right.

Ryan has decided to add another sinew to his bone quivered bow with Antropofagore. Released in 2026 and available on Goreture Rex, ‘Defleshed and Eaten’, sees Ryan delivering a pummelling version of Goregrind not for the faint hearted.

Now if you’re not a fan of Goregrind as such don’t worry. There is still that distinctive Ryan Death Metal sound throughout this album, just with added gore.

This release is full of riffs dripping with the entrails of a rotting corpse. The vocals are regurgitated from the bottom of some godforsaken pit where stench and decay thrive. This release isn’t all breakneck speed and ultra violence. The final track, which happens to be the title track, begins with a slow cadaverous pace that is quickly and horrifically replaced with speed and aggression.

The production throughout is thick and heavy making this a very enjoyable, in a sick and twisted way, listen,

If you enjoy bands like Gorerotted or Impetigo then I suggest you give this a listen. This has certainly wetted my appetite to see what depraved and murderous thing Ryan comes up with next.
