Äkth Gánahëth, featuring the mysterious A. on all instruments hails from the frozen realm of Iceland.
And things have been going fast for Äkth Gánahëth in 2020 – this demo was shortly followed by a full length and a single track was released last summer.
Musically we’re dealing here with raw D-beat Punk influenced Black Metal topped with hysterical raw rasping vocals, abrasive guitar chords, laced with epic synths and pounding drums – an Ildjarn combined with the feral antics of the early Satanic Warmaster material so to speak. The vintage Satanic Warmaster sound is indeed strongly present on this demo – what does not imply it’s a simple case of copycatting. Oh no …
Apart from the unworldly ambient intro and outros, the remaining real tracks are “From the Cursed Glades” and “Black Crowns of Stone and Moss” and these two are as said strong enough to convince each and every true Black Metal fan.
“From the Cursed Glades” truly is a nice presentation card. Superb!
