A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Abomination Storm is an Argentinian band known for their intense blend of Black and Death metal, often categorized as War Metal. They formed in 2018 and have been active in the underground metal scene since then. The band has released several EPs and singles, with their latest being the ‘Death-Hate-Genocide’ EP in 2024. Their lineup includes: Necro-Perversor of Desecrated Swollen Remains – Vocals & Drums, Genocidal Majecty Of The Gas Chamber – guitars.

Abomination Storm has gained a following for their raw and uncompromising sound, often performing at local metal festivals and underground venues. They draw inspiration from bands like Blasphemy, Beherit, and Archgoat and their music is characterized by aggressive riffs, relentless drumming, and dark, war-themed lyrics.

Back to their ‘Death-Hate-Genocide’ EP/Tape. A menacing and martial intro (‘War Cult’) precedes ‘Misanthropic Division’, a whirlwind of 100 % un-pure War/Bestial Black Metal with growling vocals, drums in blast speed modus and raging guitars, all in the Blasphemy, Decimation Hammer, Bestial Warlust vein. And before you even can draw breath, ‘Death Battalion’ and ‘Systematized Executions’ knock you over with the brutality of a military junta offensive. When you finally slowly get back on your feet, the outro ‘Blood of Patriots’ closes the EP.

It’s a bit short but nonetheless one of the finest examples of War Metal I’ve heard in a while. It’s quite impressive, to say the least. May more strikes follow soon!
