A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

For some the pandemic period of time was horrific for many reasons, others just get more and more creative, like Krod which is the brainchild of Zabulus Valtakunta from Chile.

An EP and 2 full-lengths saw the light in 2021, of which “Rotten Gods Burn in the Abyss of Serpents” is one of the full-lengths. It seems Zabulus Valtakunta was once in a mental hospital and converted his hatred towards religion and people into the Black Metal that can be heard on “Rotten Gods Burn in the Abyss of Serpents”, which is raw and bleak with several cold yet sharp sounding melodic touches.

So it is fair to say the Nordic rawer side of the Second Wave of Black Metal is the fundament of this all, or Judas Iscariot version of it.

It is not made to please anyone besides the artist itself and for you to decide if it pleases you as well. Personally, I’ve heard better but far worse as well. (Ricardo)
