‘Nidhogg’ is a compilation of the ‘Meadow in Silence’, ‘Nidhogg’ and ‘Promo’96’ demos from Swedish Mithotyn, which is released by Nordic Crusade and packaged in a beautiful digipack format. It has tremendous nostalgic photos from the band in that era. though it is a pity there are no liner notes to accompany the recording history of these releases.
Then again: you can’t have everything.
Authentic Swedish Viking Black Metal of old is brought to live again on this compilation. The music on this compilation sounds bright, dynamic and powerful after more than 30 years which ought to tell you something about the musical capacities of Mithotyn.
Music is timeless, as can be heard on this release.
