Info

Wyrms (name taken from an ancient race of dragons) are a French band/project run by Tedd and Max who release their 4th studio album through Purity Through Fire.

I’m not really familiar with their previous studio antics, yet I can understand why Purity Through Fire signed this band: it’s an album full of brutal Black Metal, yet not lacking in atmosphere nor melody. Harsh French vocals are vomited out with bile, occasionally intertwined with pagan chants. It takes the entire vocal section to a higher emotional level.

The guitars are wall to wall, taking you by storm and sucking you in their vortex. Brutal epic riffing, filled with superb solo’s and a myriad of details. The entire rhythm section pounds, bashes mercilessly, providing a plane for unlimited aggression, unbridled ecstatic melodies and epic grandeur.

And the keyboards provide a beautiful tapestry behind all this fierce aggression. A high end and superb production boosts this instant classic sky high.

You’re into bombast/epic/pagan/medieval Black Metal? Then Wyrms are the shit for you. The music reminds strongly of Vehemence, Canadian Monarque, Forteresse, Frozen Shadows, etc. Those who know what these bands stand for can purchase the Wyrms album blindly, others are cordially invited to check out ‘Sarkhral Lumænor – La lueur contre les fléaux’.
