Info

Well, well, well, I do not see people making fun of the Vampire theme anymore, now that an ever-growing number of acts dive into this so special figure of literature and Eastern – and other – popular culture. Nevertheless: Music.

Vampirska is, like sooooo many other, within the realm of Raw Black Metal, as we – presently – know it: greats melodies and hooks, all soaked in that (enough) Lo-fi production that prevents it from reaching that “mainstream Black Metal level”. This man can create some addictive guitar riffs, and overall melodic lines. The way his songs are designed might not appeal, at first, to the ones that see themselves as very Trve Kvlt and whatever, which is bad, considering how good these riffs, and overall instrumental structure, is.

This is my first time with a Vampirska release, in full. A tune, here and there, yes, but never a complete release. I can see this man has some serious love for the melodic side of Black Metal. It takes me to a cold and snowy like reality, where these melodies echo in the forest. How to paint it? Cold and Melodic. Yes, that is it. Short and not very accurate description? It might be. “Astral Transfixion…” has some immensely amazing riffs, be it Black Metal, or 60s Hard Psycho Rock.

Tracks are mostly very long, which allows the music to breath, and actually grow. This is one other positive aspect of his Art / Music: he takes his creation through various stages, and sounds, leading the listener to a variety of sonic experiences. I was very surprised with this album, very much. I might need to go back and go over his releases (2021, alone, has seen 3 Splits).

Please, once this is out (March 2022), give it a good spin. You will be amazed. (DanielP)
