A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Vacuous is a new trio from London that used their time in quarantine to work on their demo and subsequent EP. Being new to the Death Metal scene, their latest EP “Katabasis” has made waves in the community thanks to their unique take on OSDM.

The style on “Katabasis” is cavernous, sounding like it should be in a deep cave underground. Utilizing elements of the sound that Dead Congregation defined, Vacuous’s thundering rhythms produce an atmosphere of dread as the songs shift seamlessly from one to another. The instruments hurl forward with perfect harmony; the roaring bass, chainsaw guitar and vibrant drumming creating a thundering onslaught on the listener’s ears.

For anybody who is a fan of bands like Nekrovault or Cosmovore, this would be super enjoyable to listen to. (DanielF)
