Thanatos is one of the oldest still active (death) metal bands from The Netherlands and therefore has got a rather rich history. This boxed set is a fine lesson in history of one of the nicest and most interesting Dutch metal bands. A true historical document.
This box contains three double CDs, stuffed to the max with all kinds of extra’s (scroll down to see complete track listings). It contains the three albums “Emerging From The Netherworlds”, “Realm Of Ecstacy” and “Angelic Encounters”, three mini posters, three mini postcards, a sticker and a long sleave shirt. The music is nothing new, so basically this box makes the three albums available again, which was about time, actually. Still, it won’t be for long as this box set is only printed in 200 copies only, and mainly available in China.
It is needles to say that some of the very early demos, live recordings and live video footage is not the best you can imagine, taken back from sessions done in the 80’s and early 90’s. Only the “Angelic Encounters”-album has been re-mastered and re-mixed for a better sound.
