Church pipe organs, church bells…Doom! Quercus from the Czech Republic are playing Funeral Doom with Avantgarde elements. Or so they say. The Funeral part…well, no. It must be darker, heavier and slower to call it “Funeral”. Avantgarde? Not really, if you mean “something different” with Avantgarde. Sure, they use the pipe organ a lot, but that’s not really an innovative instrument within Doom Metal. It’s a melancholic, grieving Doom Metal album, and not a bad one. (Ricardo)
