Peru’s Ignotum Sanctuarii continues to delve deeper into the spectral reaches of raw Black Metal with ‘Ancient Occult Visions From Beyond’, an EP that favours atmosphere and mysticism over brute force.

Created entirely by Somnum Exterreri, the release drapes its melodies beneath layers of murky distortion, conjuring visions of forgotten temples, nocturnal rituals and ancient spiritual landscapes.

Rather than relying on relentless aggression, the EP unfolds through hypnotic repetition and carefully crafted ambience. The riffs feel less like songs and more like incantations, while distant, cavernous vocals emerge from the fog as another instrument within the ritual.

The production is undeniably raw, yet it serves the atmosphere rather than obscuring it.

What makes ‘Ancient Occult Visions From Beyond’ compelling is its sense of conviction. There is a genuine occult aura permeating these compositions, avoiding both modern polish and nostalgic imitation.

The result is an immersive journey through shadowed realms where mystery takes precedence over clarity.

For devotees of atmospheric and raw black metal, this EP offers a rewarding glimpse into a project that understands the enduring power of atmosphere.
