Despite a lifespan of over 20 years, Oskoreien probably won’t ring many bells. The closest match is most likely the 90s Black Metal fanzine ‘Oskorei’.
Getting back to Oskoreien, who with ‘Hollow Fangs’, has delivered a follow-up to their second album ‘All Too Human’, after 9 years. The listener is treated to melodic and somewhat atmospheric Black Metal, with an open sound that instantly connects it to more modern genres. The fact that they did a split with an act like Botanist should give you a hint of the direction.
It doesn’t have much replay value, but those who appreciate the Cascadian style can definitely give it a shot.
