Revving up their chainsaw of HM2 style guitar distortion, Chile’s Throne of Offal has independently released this two track demo tape. This music of mechanised dismemberment is so threateningly fierce that listening to it may finally trigger your inner desire to travel to the nearest hardware store, purchase a chainsaw and proceed to commit the kind of electronic gardening-tool inflicted spree killing that you have always known you were capable of!
Kicking off this teeth-shattering hell ride is ‘Instinto Asesino’, where the compressed sound of the track squeezes its razor-sharp guitar tones against some very metallic clangy drums. The song’s tremolo-picked riffs take turns alternating punches with descending chugging counterparts, and the seething unintelligible vocals gush through the mix like a hot-chemical based foam. ‘Necrotic Reverence’ opens to an Incantation-esque lamenting patch of slowed Death-Doom murk. The track continues with this slower descending march until it finally regains more haste during its final two minutes. A frantic and scurrying guitar solo arrives towards the end of the song before the band resumes the central riff for one last meditation on the central guitar progression.
Necrotic Reverence is a brief release that contains two tracks of old-school gristle-ripping distorted filth. I could see this being rather easy stuff for fans of Cannibal Corpse, Autopsy, Pestilence, and Dismember to appreciate.
