A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Having read some cabbalistic literature, Aynsophar caught my attention. The limitless light I was going to receive was brighter than expected. This one woman project brought back Chuck Schuldiner`s riff genius for a certain extend. We are speaking about progressive (Death) metal here. The vocals are provided by guest musicians and fit the music quite well, although they don`t reach levels like Schuldiner in terms of recognition. They vary from high shrieks to deep grunts and some clean Nevermore-like vocals. The leads are very good, melodic, skilled and mostly well placed. Barbara is very talented and I am very curious to know how far this is going. This EP shows a lot of talent and a promising future in the Prog metal cosmos If she continues this path. Maybe some hook here and there and maybe she will be able to fill the gap Schuldiner has left. A good start. (DPF)
