A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

The debut album ‘Shadowvoid’ was released in 2021 by the Brazilian band Vulthum. This record captures the essence of old school Black Metal, delivering tracks that seamlessly blend melancholic and aggressive atmospheres.

One track that truly stands out is the title track, ‘Shadowvoid’, which immediately pulls you into an abyss of darkness with its immersive and striking sound. The atmosphere the band creates is mesmerizing, making this song a personal favorite. Another highlight is ‘Under the Icons of the Mighty’, which opens with apocalyptic bells and whispering winds before erupting into a storm of pounding drums, sinister riffs, and haunting vocals. As the track progresses, the vocals shift in tandem with the rhythmic intensity, adding an unexpected dynamic that enhances the song’s impact.

Overall, ‘Shadowvoid’ is an impressive debut, packed with strong tracks that showcase Vulthum’s potential. If they continue in this direction, they have a bright future ahead. Recently, the band also released the single ‘Upon the Shores of Eternity’, which is definitely worth a listen.
