I’ll admit, Vietnam isn’t a country that appears very often on the pages of VM-Underground. Putrid Vomit Christ, a Death/Doom band from Hanoi, makes their mark in that regard.
“This is Death Metal from the depth of Hanoi’s putrid crypt, this is the Death Metal made by the doomsayers”… the slogan certainly sets the tone. As stated, it’s Death/Doom, with a strong nod towards the Finnish scene of the 90s. Dark, morbid, and macabre, bringing to mind bands like Rippikoulu, Hooded Menace, and Krypts. Rather than the expected ultra-low growl, the vocals are actually quite raspy.
‘Perpetual Intercourse’ is far from underwhelming and shows potential for a next release.
