A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Crux Caelifera is a melodic Black Metal band from Brazil and this band only released one demo in the past. The album I’m listening to right now is their first full-length and the music of Crux Caelifera reminds me mostly of Cradle of Filth. This is due to the use of vocals, which are similar to those of Dani of Cradle of Filth. Vlad D’Hades can’t shut his mouth during the eight songs on ‘Ad Lucifer Aeternam Gloriam’. That’s at some moments very frustrating because I hate that kind of albums on which a vocalist thinks he’s the most important and has to be present all the time. Due to this it’s a very hard job listening to the whole album at once without taking a break.

It’s also a pity because in a musical way we can hear some nice pieces of black art on the album, although it’s played a little bit messy occasionally. The biggest problem with an album like this is the originality of it. Each month dozens of bands release albums with a quality which equals this one.

This album is surely not bad, but it’s simply not good enough to attract many people to buy it. ‘Ad Lucifer Aeternam Gloriam’ is only interesting for the real die-hards.
